Motorcyclist Retro Magazine
22 Sep 2008 14:57
Was out and about today and noticed another issue of this is out. I got a copy of the first one in June, so I'm glad to see this has continued. Look for it and buy a copy, let's support this venture with our business.

This should be the Z-1 issue, iirc. I'm trying to find a copy, no joy so far. What store did you find it in?

About a year ago I got turned on to Motorcycle Classics magazine. It's bi-monthly and rather interesting. Mostly Japanese and European bikes. You can see more at.

Finally found my first copy of this new mag...and it is already issue #5...seems to be fairly nice but there are distribution issues...FloridaSteve gave a nice list of outlets but the magazine is unevenly available, even at thise listed. They are not available at all HEB's, Kroger's, or B&N, can't speak for the others. If the mag doesn't get these distribution anomalies worked out, it is doomed.

The Motorcyclist Retro magazine is a step up in content from the "usual pretty picture, fluff article" vintage bike magazines hitting the shops in the USA.
It's a strange size - larger page sizes than most. The articles have much more readable depth to them - more like Classic Motorcycle Mechanics or Classic Bike (both from the UK).
I wish it focused solely on street bikes, the dirt bike articles don't really interest me - and several people I've spoken with said the same thing.
While you expect advertising in all magazines, the ads seem to disrupt the flow of the articles as they are heavily interspersed in the articles.

Awesome, an Elsinore!!!
I haven't thought of that bike for 30 years. I remember when that first came out, was extremely fast. Blew away my Suzuki. hahahahaha...
Damn I love this forum, just brings back so many fond memories that I just totally forgot about.

I like the mix of both dirt and street bikes. I'm into all vintage bikes. I have raced vintage motocross for years, but I love to see the street bikes from the 60's and 70's. They have so much character compared to the new stuff. Everything in my garage except my Baja bike is vintage.
I hope they can keep it up. I will keep buying it if I can find it.
