:)

It would be nice if we could see the size of the offers that are being made. He's got 3 offers so far. One of them declined.

As it sits I would'nt offer more than $1200 for that thing, and I think that's too much.

NickW900LTD also posted on this in Chit Chat (yea, right).
Seems nobody thinks the seller is playing with a full deck. I don't know how someone could think that this bike is worth $8,500, just because it "rolls real good".

I don't think the seller is insane. But he's hoping to find a stupid buyer.

He is using the "Best Offer" feature. So he sets a ridiculously high BIN price, hoping that will bring him higher offers than he would otherwise get.

It's like the bozo in Louisiana who just filed a lawsuit against the Army Corps of Engineers for 3 quadrillion dollars. He has no hope of getting that, but he's betting that it will drive up the settlement amount.

I think Skyman is probably right. I was looking at that one on ebay yesterday. Pretty rough ride.

Three things that I could think of
1: Typo 850.00 is more reasonable.
2: Taxtime, Screw someone like he screwed I.R.S. and got audited
3: Testing the waters to see what it would bring with best offer.

Three: seems unlikely as he owns a bike shop.
Two: Who knows
One: seems unlikely as it has been revised.

I think we can safely assume he isn't going to be asked to bring potato salad to the Mensa picnic anytime soon.:)

Yeah, look at the Q&A section of the listing:

Q: seems a bit much for the condition?
A: MAKE AN OFFER?

Q: hi can you tell me why this non running inconpleat motor cycle is worth $5,800.00 or is the buy now price wrong.
A: ASKING $8,500 OR BEST OFFER, CHECK COMPLETED LISTINGS A BIKE LIKE THIS RUNNING WILL SELL OVER $13,000 I THINK MY HIGH PRICE IS FAIR,BUT I AM WILLING TO ACEPT A LOWER OFFER.

"THIS IS ATHREE OWNER BIKE INCLUDING MYSELF,CLEAN ILLINOIS TITLE IN SECOND OWNERS NAME SIGNED NOT DATED."

Big Red Flag. This guy is trying to "jump title" and not pay sales tax. Happened to me when I bought my kz750, but was too dumb to know it until I tried to title it. Might be able to get away with it if the retitle happens in-state, but I'll bet he'll get caught if it's out-of-state and the bill of sale and title doesn't match.

Seems a little overpriced...
