I did 11.53 on a stock wheelbase '79 ltd 1000. Had a 1105 kit, 29's, dyna S & coils. That was my 2nd time at the track ever.

Very interested in this, I have a z1a with z1000 barrels and pistons , v and h pipe, K and n filters and dyna ignition and coils . This winter thinking of going the 1075 wisco and 29 mm smoothbore route so same spec as you guys above . Heres the question what will a 1075 with 29mms etc make at the back wheel on the dyno?
Would I be better with 1075 Wisco pistons or for a few dollers more
Ape sell a kit with 1075 pistons and cams? Jay I would really appreciate your input on this?

Stever,
Get the cams. You'll thank yourself later on. You'll potentially lose some bottom-end torque but the mid-range and more likely top-end torque will be worth it.

Ran my 79 1000ST (Shaft) at the track last month and posted a best 12.2@113.5mph (80 degrees at sea level) My 60 foot time on that run was 2.15 sec...not good. Should be closer to 1.8 sec. Teminal speed suggests the bike will run somewhere in the mid 11's with a good launch. Bike has 1075, 34rs flat slides. Web Cam .365 lift, V&H megaphone.
Time slip says
60' - 2.154
330 - 5.302
1/8 - 7.920 93.32mph
1/4 - 12.205 113.47mph
Was my first time at the 1/4 mile track with a bike. Will try again before the season is out.
