Answer: Bought the bike from a family member after it sat for more than 10 years in my Grampa's old garage. It has 4800 original miles on it and was very clean to begin with. My uncle bought it from the original owner I'm told. I've done some of the usual post-hibernation stuff, some clean up, and accepted some great help from folks here (wireman, you know who you are!) and she is now running. Yesterday, was first ride...very sweet.

Answer: It is a Kooler Kontrol and acts like a thermostat for the oil cooler. I'm trying to find out more about it in another thread in the engine area...hope someone has seen one before.
