This is how i got it 15 years ago. unfortunately, it was neglect and in a bad  way. However, what started out as a fun little project turned into so much more. In the time i've had the bike i've moved house 5 times, each time i'd bring all the boxes of parts. I've had two children, who, as they got older, have helped me work on it. So in that way, this means more to me than just a simple restoration. It's been a long journey, but the finish line is now in sight.

starting from scratch with minimum tools, but willing to learn and slowly build what i need. sometimes a little modding is in order.

frame and parts. paint trying it's best to hold on, but unable to escape the inevitable rust that's spreading underneath.

spokes are toast.

fixing that frame crack at the stand. ...gave me an idea... a stance idea.

stripping parts back really showed the scale of it's neglect. but we have the technology, we can rebuild it.

some things are best left to the pros. if i don't have the equipment or means, a little help is ok. sandblasting is one of those for me. the spokes are another. here's the frame after it got stripped. also got new spokes and wheel alignment.

what was once a fun project became a burden. moving houses, well, sucks. dragging an unfinished bike around doesn't help. my attitude towards the project was despondent. "one day" i said. day after day. year after year. curveballs in life sometime trick us into thinking the things we love aren't important. but everything happens in the right timing, and out of the sludge came a burning desire.

small steps. that feeling when you finally have a rolling chassis.
