Authentic Paint and Striping 1980 KZ 750

"I would be interested in knowing what your paint set up is in terms of equipment. What air compressor, gun and etc. What paint/primer  did you use?"

There could be a whole thread on this. My set-up is quite simple. 
I use a small HVLP gun, water separator, pressure reducing regulator and a Rapid Nail small compressor. 
For the paints, primers, basecoats, midcoats, (some coloured midcoats for the "Candy" effect) reducers and clearcoats I follow the manufacturers instructions. Not everything has to "be by the book" but long term results are better if you do. I have made mistakes and had to redo things a couple of times but that is how you learn.
I could do another thread on just my painting when I get the time. For now I just have to finish these 2 paint jobs, rebuild the engine, disassemble the bike in my basement and reassemble it in my garage, then repaint another bike tank to sell it......

I now have 2 complete sets of bodywork painted, striped and clear coated. A few spots to wet sand and polish out but I will do that in a few weeks after the clear hardens up a bit.
 

Painting is mostly done. They will just need a final polishing before the bike is finally assembled.
Which colour do you prefer?

Red with gold stripes is the winner for me.

Personally I prefer the silver

Silver is  the winner for me!( ...,...but both sets are look professionally painted!  = Great job!)

Red is my favorite color.
