Side covers were painted and cleared yesterday. Tank got another layer of color, and the fairing got 2 layers today. I'm back to work tomorrow (thank god) so updates are gonna be slow (boo).
Now I just have to decide on decals for the tank.

Nice job. That fairing is pretty mod looking. What's that from?

I honestly don't know but I just did a Google search and found this. According to the guy who posted it, it's a Honda CBR bikini fairing. I bought it at a swap meet this year for $15 because I thought it was cool looking.

I went to clear coat the fairing the other day and found out the paint "fogged" because of the humidity.
Grrrr. Good thing I have more matte black. Waiting for the paint to dry today before I shoot it with clear.

I sanded off the last coat of paint, sprayed it again, and let it dry. Turned out nicely. Went to shoot the clear coat, the clear coat started to lift. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

How long did you give it between paint and clear?

Honestly, it was like 3 days because of work and the weather.

I kinda figured. Clear usually needs to be sprayed within 24 hours of base coat, and the sooner the better. I found about 30 minutes works best.

I'll have more time to paint and clear the fairing Friday.

Finally figured out what bike the fairing came off of! It came off an 83 Honda CB1100F!

The paint on the fairing fogged up again. I wish I had an actual paint booth to spray in. Well, another night of sanding and painting. Sprayed the tank again too. Hope to clear them both today. But before I did, I finished making a rear seat mount and mocked everything up. I really love the way this has turned out.
