The last days have I done some paint work on the fenders and the engine, I have attached some photos below. When the paint is dried will I do what is left on the engine, replace and the valve tappet and adjust he valve clearness and store the engine until the weather is warmer, around one month?

The plan is to replace on the small bolts on the engine, at least on the sides, with bolt who has not paint on...

I will also install the brakes front the next days, see what I take first.

Need to clean my work space also after the paining... lot of dust....

Today have I installed the front fender and the front brakes include the brake lines. I think there is some more air in the system, will check it up later.
I`m planning to not do any thing the next week, take some holidays...

Looks good. I do believe there is supposed to be struts from the bottom of the forks to the lower rear of your front fender. If the front fender oscillates enough to catch the tread while you are riding, it is going to be a $hitstorm. Take a hard look at it partner. A pic of my 79 D2 for reference.

ajsfirehawk makes an excellent point! Carefully check the bottom rear of that fender to see if it has been modified. Some had the struts wrapped around the back of the fender and attached to holes as in ajsfirehawk's picture, and some had the struts attached to tabs on the fender as shown in the image below. Someone may have modded your fender to eliminate the holes or the tabs. In any case it looks like there's a lot of unsupported fender there that might cause a problem if you hit a bump. Ed

Thank you for your feedback. When I got the bike these was missing and I have driven one season without, so I will look into it, but properly have it like now.
Like the design better, if the vibration will give any problem will I think about cutting the lenght of the fenders instead.

From internet image searches the KZ650-D4 may not have Fr fender stays, and the 1981 KZ650 manual doesn't show the stays. The JarleF Z650 site has a pic of a D4 without them as well. However, it seems odd that there are 2 holes at the rear of the fender.

I think the two wholes is for «mudflap»?

I only see the CSR model for 1981 KZ650's. I think you have a 1980 year of manufacture KZ650. Here is the link to the Partzilla front fender for your model. It has the wrap around style strut and those two holes are for mounting. The fenders that don't have struts are shorter. Longer is better for road crap/rain being thrown on you, and your pipes but if it is a look you are after, shorten it up. I would not leave as is without a strut. Party on.

Kawasaki made a 1981 KZ650-F2 (and 1982 and '83 F models) and to my surprise it has the long front fender with no struts. I don't know if any of those models were imported to the US. See link below. Ed

Have same tires on my bike, I like them, and will buy them again.
I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

I've got to believe those models don't have two holes on the back of the fender. Makes me wonder if there was some additional structure inside to avoid oscillation.
