It's not about making me happy, it's about what makes you happy. Just look at the old CB 750's and think about how they wish they could do it.

You know the little plastic trim thing that goes around the seat making a nice clean edge between the seat cover and the seat pan? Naturally after 40 years mine is everything from bare white plastic to good looking silver/chrome coating. Do I just clean all the old coating off then scuff it up and paint it with a spray can? My seat cover is pretty much perfect, I'd rather leave it alone if possible.

Gotta get the calipers powder coated to match the forks before they go on for real.

I'm scared to take the trim bit off the seat. Looks like its the way the luxurious 70s pleather seat cover is held/stretched to the seat pan.

There are teeth the seat cover hooks on to. You may have to pry them open a little to get the cover off. As long as the cover isn't hard with age, it can be done.

08 Dec 2015 07:38 - 08 Dec 2015 07:44If you want to save some money you can get some VHT, or Dupli-color rattle can caliper paint from Auto Zone for about 6.99Bowman wrote: Gotta get the calipers powder coated to match the forks before they go on for real.
I did my calipers & drums on my 4RR, in blue, & they tuned out great, 3 coats on each, & still had some paint left with 1 can

If I wanted to save money I'd take up hookers and blow instead of restoring an old kz. Ypur calipers do look nice.
