I started to do some work on the 74. It sat outside for 23 years.
So I scrubed, pressure washed it again, sprayed it down with WD-40 and brought it from the shed to my garage.
I then had some keys made, bought a battery, new plugs, cleaned the tank, changed the oil, removed the front brake pads, so I can move the damn thing, removed the carbs to be rebuilt and took them to a bike mechanic I know personaly.
I'm getting closer to firing this old girl up. Someone robbed the points and points cover long ago. I've been thinking of installing a Dyna S in it, but need to do some more research first. I just want a trouble free runner, not something I need to program.
I've run power through the bike, but the starter won't kick in. I see the speedo lights flicker a little when I push the starter button, so I know something is drawing juice. I ran a jumper to the starter and it works. I think maybe the solenoid is bad?

The Dyna is a good ignition. Many of us use them.My 74 looked like that once. I like that color.
