Settle an argument for me. Is it possible to convert a 2 carb sysetem off of a twin to a single carb? Are there any performance advantages? I'm just going to sit back and await your responses.

I've seen pictures of a 4 cylinder Kawi with a single carb before. Don't know ant details or if it ran better?

Not a stupid question at all.
Triumph T100 came in single and dual carb flavors.
Little Y shaped adapter for the single carb.
IIRC dual carb setup is pair of 26mm(or inch equiv) and single is a 28mm.

For a 750 you could machine as a top and bottom useing some 7/8" plate and it will be plenty strong. If just experimenting, some copper plumbing fittings will do the trick.

I've been running a 1.5" bore Zenith-Stromberg (CV type) not an SU, carb on my 650 for a couple years now. I made the manifold using 1" copper tubing pieces I cut and soldered together. Then I used a 1.5" brass fitting to mount the carb to it. That fitting took some doing the get it to match up with the 1" tubing,,, God I was I had something more than common hand and power tools,,, maybe a machine shop,, :P :P :P .
But, I have been pretty happy with the outcome, better mileage, more low end torque and only one adjustment for the mixture. I started out with a carb off a 1500CC Triumph, car not bike. Then I got a NOS carb off a 1300CC something or other, I can't remember what it was from, off Ebay. When I contacted the seller about it and asked him some questions and told him what I was doing with it, he sent be a bunch of spare parts for it including a package of 4 diaphrams it. I don't know if it was my imagination or what but that one made it run even better, I don't know if it was because it was jetted for a 1300CC and that just happens to be 2 times the capacity of my 650 and the bikes rev about 2 time what car does but, it's working good and I'm enjoying it.
I had to do it just because I was told it couldn't be done. I just enjoy a challenge I guess.

Have the same style choke lever on both my T100's :-)
It's amazing what can be done when one starts thinking....

That's an original picture,, I've modified the linkage to use a pivot from the rack on a spare set of mikunis I had, that way I use the original push pull cables ,, but I still use a chain to pull the carb linkage,, :laugh: :laugh:
I'll get a picture taken of the new setup and post it.
