Haven't been on a bike for almost 27yrs and got the fever again. My last bike was a KZ1300(naked) and now I'm trying to revive an '81 KZ750E. I know it's going to be great! I want to do as much of the work I can myself except maybe rebuilding and calibrating the carbs, and I will certainly have it checked out by an experienced motorcycle mechanic before I head out on the road. I've pretty much decided that I want to find an airbox for this bike. So if anyone out there knows where they might have one laying around, please let me know. Good to be here.

Thanks.

Welcome to the site.
And welcome back to riding.
Lots has changed in 27 years. The modern bikes out there now are faster, and the roads are more congested with cages.
Also, your reflexes aren't what they used to be. Once the bike is checked out and roadworthy, get out there are ride. It will all come back to you.
If you've got open roads without too much traffic to start with, all the better.
Good luck!

I MIGHT have an air-box laying around for that bike. PM me and I'll see if I can find it. If I can find it I can't be sure that it's the 'right' box, but you can have it, just pick up the shipping.

PM me and I'll see if I can source it at the first of next week.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I get the feeling that I was directed to the right place. I apologize for asking for a part on the "New Member" page. As so often, I read the instructions after I had made the mistake.

I have one question: What is PM? I hate it when I have to show off my ignorance, but everyone here seems so helpful that I don't mind it.

Thanks again!!!

Man, of all the forums that I have ever visited I'd say that the guys here are just about the easiest to get along with as I've ever come by.

PM means Personal Message; it's just like dropping somebody a personal email that only goes to that person.

PS> Pics of your stuff is always a good way to get guys to chat about you...or your stuff.

Welcome to the site. Nice to see another 750 - 4 getting the treatment. And yes, you can do the carbs also if you have a mind to try. How about those pics ?

Right now my camera isn't the best; don't know if the picture would be clear enough to post. The best I could provide right now would be a "before" pic. That might be a good idea! Then, later, I could post the finished project. Let me experiment with my camera a little and see what I can do. I have ejoyed looking at the other pictures here.:)

Thanks again.

I know what you mean about the pictures here...do these guys have great bikes, or what!

Another bonus to showing us your bike in before mode is that we'll all give you crap until you take the thing into the garage and get after it!
