I almost forgot to add something on the SprayMax, ABSOLUTELY WEAR A RESPIRATOR WHEN USING! This is some nasty stuff. I just used my cheapo respirator but I was glad I did. This stuff uses cyanoacrylates like superglue, the fumes are horrendous. My arm hairs are fairly glued together after using it, but at least my lung walls aren't

Oh and Mark, the LTD pan actually has the step built into it. That's why the ZRX seat looked like a natural fit. If it turns out as good as I hope, we may just start a new trend in replacing LTD couch seats

So here is my front fender after the SprayMax 2K Clear

Not too bad considering it hasn't been buffed out yet. BTW that's Craig's evil twin in the reflection.

I must agree with Leon, the paint looks great for a rattle can job, and the rest of your project is progressing nicely. Well done! I see I have some catching up to do.

So I managed to get the seat mounted tonight. Not perfect, but I like it alot!

looks pretty dang good man.
the tucks and folds will probably be the first spots to get wear/damage.
so i would get some miles out of it,shake it down.
then an upholstery shop could build you a new cover and knock that outta the park.

keep us posted,

Is the 650 tail actually mounted, or just setting there? It seems to all fit together good. Paint looks killer for a spray can job. That rattle can 2 part clear would be a perfect solution for a touch up job. Sure beats hauling out the HVLP and making that mess to fix a ding.

BTW I love the Johnny Cash poster. “American Recordings and Johnny Cash would like to acknowledge the Nashville music establishment and country radio for your support.”

Yeah leon I wish I was better at fitting the cover on, but cool thing is if I ever decide to change I can go with an aftermarket ZRX cover. I'll just let an upolstery shop do it next time. I'm pretty happy with it for now.

Hey Josh, no I just have it clamped on for now, but it's all trimmed up and ready to mount once I get it painted. Also I hope to get the fender eliminator/ license plate-tail light mount done before I mount it up. I'm hoping I may get that done tommorrow.

I finished buffing out the tank and side covers today...sweet B) You know, it's got some flaws, but for my first go I'm pretty satisfied. I imagine like anything else, I will be the only one to really notice the flaws on my daily rider.

And the man in black continues to be a total badass even after death....what an attitude!

I have to love Johnny. He's an American original to the core, and we share the same birthday. It's just incidental, but I named my first born Jackson.

Are you following my license plate, taillight, fender bracket? If so, make sure it gets welded good all the way around. My first attempt broke apart due to vibration. I thought that my small 1/2" welds would be fine, and I was wrong. Now it's welded all the way around, and it's going strong.

I got really lucky and scored the seat on ebay for $50. It looked like a new takeoff with no wear whatsoever. I almost hated to use it being so pristine....almost.

This projects section is turning out to be my favorite here, gets my brain a turnin with new ideas, and its just amazing what everyone comes up with and makes work. Something for all skill levels too. With winter comin on , I figured on at least detailing my bike but I have to tell you the ideas get grander by the day seein what gets done here. Watchin this bike and several others to see the end result and reports on how they ride; BTW this one looks great so far.
