I really do love HF. I've just had some bad luck recently. Overall, most of the stuff I have from them works great. If it wasn't for them, some of the tools I've needed I wouldn't have because I wouldn't have been able to justify their price. Once we fixed the stud gun (better than new IMO) it worked great.

So a question for everyone.... I thought I would do some maintenance on my forks next. The seals do not appear to leak but I know they have to be over 5-10 years old. Should I just replace fork oil? Or should I tear them down for a complete once over. I will have to remove the wheel for bearing and caliper maintenance, tire replacement and painting the rim. I await your opinions.

I vote for new seals. Considering the scope of your project, it's not much extra cash for some peace of mind. Funny how those old seals will hold oil until you start using the bike a lot. Is the chrome on your fork tubes in good shape? No pits?

Yeah, you know right after I hit submit I realized this was a dumb question. Why would I go through all this and not do it right. I want to paint the lowers anyways. I've the seen the tutorials on rebuilding the earlier styles, but not the air shocks. The air version "looks" easier in the manual. Thanks

Just remember to wipe 'em down real good before you cuddle up. The underside of those swingarms gets pretty dirty.

Nice score. How did you get free shipping on that item for $42? I bet the seller paid $20 to ship it by UPS ground.

I wasn't gonna buy em yet, as I'm trying to focus on one project at a time, but they were too good to pass up. They look to be in awesome shape too, with no signs of abuse. Now if I can find the matching forks

hey that swingarm looks familar..
if you love to fabricate install it the best way you can. its wider than the frame. or do like i should have and have the swingarm pivot width machined down to fit the frame, and have the bearings seated. either way....nice buy!

I'm pretty handy, but no machinist. Fortunately I have a good friend who is. I know I will need alot of assistance with that particular build. For now, I gotta get my mind back on the LTD. My goal is to have her up by summer.

I want to have one running and ridable when I start the "Bushido".
