First thing I'd try is pudhing out the steel bushing and then making the center hole in the ZRX shocks big enough to get the bushing in. If you have to remove the rubber bushing, try softening them by soaking in boiling water to heat them first.
Silicone spray will help them go back in easier.

Hi all,
The swingarm came off a zr1100
It normally takes a 20mm pin but I made "adapters" that allow use of the stock 15mm pin. Real simple to do.
The frame was checked for straightness, then gussetted & welded. The rear pag triangle was removed. A set of ZRX shocks will work nicely and really dress things up.
It currently allows use of a 160 rear tire. This is limited by the wheel not the swigarm.

Ok, first post...
So, I've been spending some time around the forums trying to get a feel for what might actually be the best parts for swaps on a 76 KZ900. I think I might be OK with the rear end, at this point i am going to try out a modified GS1100 swing arm with a pair of ZRX piggyback shocks, and the caliper lowered.
What I can't seem to get a good line on is the front end..lot's of posts with has anybody tried this, but only the one fork swap thread (which I see mentioned alot but can not find :woohoo: !
There seems to be a lot of ZX stuff out there, so that's why I mentioned it....
Any help or thoughts about this:S

When I'd go to the drags I'd slide the tubes up and put some struts on the back.

Hey waterman. I rode around with dropped forks and zrx shocks for a while without any problems. The bike did turn in a lot easier. I would still be running the ZRX shocks but they looked to damn modern on my bike, trying to find something that looks more vintage. Going back to my 30 yr old stockers was a "shocker" though hehe.

Thanks for all the help, guys. I will try and look in that zrx forum. I dont know on the koni's....I guess I would have to say make me an offer (I know that makes it difficult
). As for my motor, it has a new old stock crank, (picked it up on ebay for $100 hahaha), which has been welded by ape, a ported and polished head, stage one yoshimura cams. If I have problems with the trans I will backcut it, but it isnt now. I also machined the head for the nitrous foggers. It has a 1200 kit in it also. Ill let you know how the zrx forum works for me. ALL I HAVE IS WIRING, THE BODYWORK, AND THE REAR SUSPENSION!!!! I have been working on this bike for 6 years now (in between college and getting a real job), and I really want to get it on the road!
Thanks,
Josh

Thanks,
Josh
