i just put one on a yamaha seca 750, used the magnetic speedo pickup
it's just the 3200 plane jane model so hooking it up was pretty simple
only problem was the tach jumping all over, i used the original tach wire and put a 1 meg ohm resistor in the wire and all is well
the back light is blue, nice if it goes with your bike
the temp sensor got threaded into a aluminum block that got jb welded to the cam chain tunnel, runs about 180/190
on the 4 lane and goes to 250/270 when it's just shut down

Has anyone here installed an Acewell on their bike? I am thinking of swapping out for one as mine gauges are pretty old and ugly. If so, how was it to install? I couldn't find anything about them in the forum, so I thought I would ask everyone.

Thanks

Any of you who have performed this, chime in, send pics, descriptions, etc.

I just installed an Acewell 2803 in place of the stock gauges and am mulling over what to do with the ignition switch. Guess I could just fab a tab and mount it off one of the handlebar bolts but, if possible, I would like to move it away from the tree and, maybe, mount it somewhere else.

Any ideas?

Oh this question....

Review the last couple of pages of my project have the fabbed mounting bracket I needed.... ZX636 front end doesn't have a speed drive so had to go with magnetic pickup on the bracket and one of the magnet bolts on the front rotor...

Acewell does offer a drive to electronic converter....

The picup is required 1/4" away from the magnet during rotations for sensing and accuracies... Mine came in 1.2 mph difference from a buddies brand new jeep cherokee...

For the speed programing, you measure and program into the unit your front tire circumference (not rim circum)... Programing is easy, push buttons on the unit...

For tach, two options... Wire wrap around coil wire Blah or direct hook up into one of the coil feeds... Tach programming has .5, 1, 2 settings for different setups...

Truly not dificult, even for you Sandy...

Most probably Electrosports.com for they have been advertising this for over a year now, here next moth... Yeah right....

And yes, I have the Acewell 2802, love it! No problems reading the digital in the sunlight... Accurate little bugger as well.
