Happy New Year! No tragic questions for once, only despairing of my tragic life!
31 Dec 2025 23:55 - 02 Jan 2026 09:17So I somehow thought it was a great idea to wash my bike on NYE. Not the lamest idea ever, right ? Well, no, but after approximately 45 minutes of hauling multiple buckets of water/cloths/brushes/lights(!)/etc out in preparation of this fun and exciting activity it's only now that I realize this totally sucks. In order to understand what a poor decision this was, one must understand that I live in an apartment, and my bike "lives" in my carport. It is a mere minute by foot from my front door, but it lacks an outlet, water, lights. Plus it's raining. And no, I expect no sympathy - I'm well aware pretty much anytime other than 11:30 p.m. would have been the better choice. I merely wish to be a wanker, in hopes of learning I'm not the only one already having regrets even before 2026 begins! I'm also not especially motivated to drag all this crap back inside (For a special treat I'm even going to provide photo of this scene of despair. Yes. Those are the headlights of my car - I thought they'd work great - hahaha.)

I'm sure most of us have had to deal with living somewhere that was not conducive to our hobbies. I didn't have a garage until I was 30.
Happy New Year!

I'd not heard of a Mancunian until I read your message, but thanks to Google I have come to understand this means a resident of Manchester?! I am now curious to know what manner of person inhabits this city - miserable individuals? Those with no life? Surely not - clearly it is readily apparent I am a splendid, amusing sort, non? (I'm actually a Californian - a "Santa Barbarian" to be precise. Not sure much about me is barbarous, to be sure, but I dare say any name with Barbarian in it is pretty bitchin') Happy New Year !

Hahaha - I'm well past 30, but I have had a a garage in the past. It's truly an agonizing choice, but as I'm a girl I've decided if it's one or the other I prefer my backyard garden to a garage (this is likely only due to the fact that my father and two brothers live here as well, so I'm able to utilize THEIR garages!)
Happy New Year !

One thing I miss about living in the country, is having a big garage.

I'm a bit late to offer a Happy New Year greeting but here it is.
I've been taking advantage of some wetter weather lately to get back onto some service and maintenance in the shop.
I machined the exhaust gas recirculation chambers off of a couple of cam covers for my 1300s.
Started out working on the cam chain tensioner ended up adjusting the valves.
Looking Forward to a Good Year !
