Thanks, but you can bet I'm not nearly as smart as I think I am..
My experience with any kind of noisemaker - radio, tape, CD, MP3 or Tomato of the Moment
is that they're *all* about equally distracting. But then, I'm the type that likes the stock pipes because I can *hear* what's going on beyond the peripheral range of my peepers, so don't consider me normal...
That said liking a stereo is a YMMV kind of statement, so if you put a little thought to it, you're bound to either find or come up with something.
Side cover decals can be found at Reproduction Decals up in Toronto - and they're nice folks:

The sidecover decals are pretty much legal everywhere I'm aware of because they're an OEM model designator, not "statement of affiliation" with law enforcemennt.
You might want to check to see if there are any Michigan laws regarding displaying anything like large POLICE, SHERIFF or specific department decals. Most states have some kind of frown on what could ne interpreted as "impersonation", and even if they don't, it's always a possibility that the odd Barney could try to make one up on the fly...
The pursuit lights are another item worth boning up on in your home state. It's pretty much a lock everywhere that red, blue or combinations of same are strictly verbotten. Most states will allow some type of flasher -either in white or amber - otherwise cager-ers would be helpless in a light drizzle. . Most states use purple for funeral processions.
Find the pertinent sections of state laws - say ORC 4513.17, print them out and keep it in your saddlebag with your registration. Nothing shuts a Barney up like a a parking lot pop quiz on his own bloody rulebook - if you're right and can prove it.
