rear shock adjustment
30 Jul 2011 18:30
anybody have an idea of how to adjust the rear shocks, manual says there are three positions and you need a hook spanner, I do not have a hook spanner, nor will I purchase a hook spanner in the near future (broke) just a curiosity, thanks in advance

If you look at the rear shocks, there is a ring with ramps on it to adjust the spring pre load. The hooked spanner has a tooth or square section designed to engage this opening on the ring.

You may be able to wrap a piece of thick leather (i.e. from an old belt) around the adjuster to protect it and turn it using Channellock pliers. Ed

In the past I've always just grabbed the ring with by bare hand and turned it while pulling upward.
Don't know if I can still do that though

that was a whole lot easier to turn than I thought it would be. i like the ride better now that it is at it's lowest point, not as stiff
