rear shock adjustment

anybody have an idea of how to adjust the rear shocks, manual says there are three positions and you need a hook spanner, I do not have a hook spanner, nor will I purchase a hook spanner in the near future (broke) just a curiosity, thanks in advance

If you look at the rear shocks, there is a ring with ramps on it to adjust the spring pre load. The hooked spanner has a tooth or square section designed to engage this opening on the ring.

You may be able to wrap a piece of thick leather (i.e. from an old belt) around the adjuster to protect it and turn it using Channellock pliers. Ed

the (broke ) mans way

use plump pliers big azz pliers will work

and use a rag on shock as to not mark shocks.

In the past I've always just grabbed the ring with by bare hand and turned it while pulling upward.
Don't know if I can still do that though :(

put it on the center stand and use big pair pliers

that was a whole lot easier to turn than I thought it would be. i like the ride better now that it is at it's lowest point, not as stiff
