ZX6R brake and clutch lever perches
15 May 2010 02:56
I want to update the brake and clutch levers on my bike. I would like to use ZX6R parts. Does anyone know if there will be an issue swapping 6R brake and clutch lever perches on an older bike?

The perches themselves should present no problem. ZX-6r clipons are 7/8" just like a normal KZ handlebar. You will have to find a location to mount the brake master cylinder reservoir. On the ZX it should have a small sheetmetal bracket that mounts it to the righthand clipon. Without the bracket to support it, it is just dangling by the small rubber hose between the reservoir and the master cylinder. I am not sure what piston size the ZX master cylinder is. If it is a different size than the KZ MC, then it will change the mechamical advantage of the front brakes. This could lead to either soft brakes with no power, or super hard brakes with no feel.

Spiegler custom made brake lines.... Lengths, Colors, Banjo bolts....
spieglerusa.com/cfm/customline.cfm
Bypass the mid line distribution block and use a combo Banjo Bolt brake switch...
Clean installation, less chance of brake pressure leak and color of your choice in line sheathing and banjo bolt anodization....

i use a zx9/12(same) on mine. they works great, front and rear. way better than the kz brakes.of course i have the bigger, matching rotors as well.
i have the banjo brake light switch as well, u can get 1 at Z1E for about $16.
if u deside to go with the carbon fiber look, black lines with gold fittings, i may have a spare, right front Gaffer.
