How to remove headlight mount on fork??? 78 kz650

Hey guys I just picked up a 78 kz650c and wanted to change the headlight to something different. I already have universal headlight fork mount brackets. I want to remove the headlight mounts that are on the forks(welded on??). How do I go about doing this?? Is there a few ways to remove the mounts?? Thanks in advance, Nik.

I believe you remove the top triple clamp and the headlight mounts slide up off the fork tubes. BUT, I have never done it. Maybe someone else can confirm this?

You can do it that way or you can remove wheel and slide fork tubes down out of triple clamps thus releasing headlight ears and spacers. :)

Thanks guys for the quick responses. The only reason I was asking is the bike is not in my possesin yet, so I couldn't see how to do it. Thanks again, Nik.
