My powder coater said he could powder coat my mulholland springs if i had them sandblasted else where. He said they did a pair prior and they turned out bad. Should i have them blasted or dipped to get rubber coating off?

Rubber coating?
Sand blasting might fail.

Perhaps consider having springs boiled at local radiator shop.

Sometimes various types of finishes are baked off in an oven to clean them before powder coating.

OEM Boge-Mulholland shocks on 1976 KZ900-B1 LTD came with black color springs. But I believe they were painted, and not rubber coated.

Maybe the existing springs have been dipped in that liquid rubber stuff used for tool handles and such.

Good Luck! :)
