help with zx7r forks
02 Sep 2009 17:40
I know a few people have zx7 forks on their bikes and I do too now. I was playing with the preload adjuster and I guess I backed it out too far and it came unhooked from the dampening rod and I dont know how to put it back together. I may just take the things apart and put new seals oil and bushings in them. I thank you in advance for any info.

The 7R forks are not all the same.
The adjusters do spin down on the rod...as you already know. I'd have to check the manual for more details on install setup. I have the factory manual for that bike if you need something copied. Holler if you do.

thanks Larry. I am just curios as to how you are supposed to push the spring down far enough to thread the cap on. Or if you are supposed to have the forks apart and install it. If you could let me know what it says in the manual. If it is complicated then i may have to do something else. I'm thinking if I take a wrench and press the spring down then with an extra set of hands thread the cap on.

thank you for your help guys. I have another question. I think the oil level is low. Could someone tell me what oil to use and how high the oil is supposed to be and where to measure it from. Any info would be appreciated.
