handlebar and cable lengths
10 May 2009 18:20
okay, so im thinking im might have hit a snag. i want to put superbike bars onto my 750 H3, but with the mini apes i have, the cables are too long. so my question is, when purchasing from z1enterprises, do i go with 750 R1 cable lengths or do i go with E lengths? from the pics i have seen, it appears the 750 R1 has lower superbike bars as the standard kz750 e has a little bit more rise. and anybody here with superbike bars on their 750 wouldnt be able to tell me how long the brake line is from the MC in the front to the first line split on the fork, would they? geez, i know im askin alot. sorry guys!

The folks at Z1E are very helpful and easy to talk to about stuff like that.
Am thinking they could fix you right up in short order.
Good Luck!

The brake hose lengths are in the diagrams at Kawasaki.com.
After installing the handelbars, an easy way to figure out the needed length is to remove the bolts to the front brake pipe joint there on the forks, then lower it until the line looks about right, then subtract the overage. simple.
You probably want to order everything at once, but if you install the bars first, the brake line fit might be better & you might be able to figure out what upper banjo fitting would be preferable for the new bars.
Also, not sure if you've considered it yet, but the stock master cylinder has an angled mount, so it will not be level w the new bars. New aftermarket units are available on ebbaayy - I don't know if Z1 or other places sell them.
