yeah but the 11 second bikes don't really twist the frames to much-- i would worry about other things first .

im looking to run a 7" slick, im planning on running in the area of 10's-11's.
as for the swing arm, my father in law is building me one, he's made a few different ones already.
i'll keep my eyes open for a 650 front end and 200 front wheel.
thanks for the help guys, keep the opinions coming!

As long as you have the bike apart go ahead and spend the $30 and a couple of hours and brace it up. Also a 18 inch front slick is easier to find than a 19incher. Go for the 18 inch. i sold one about 6 months ago or it would have been yours.

H1/H2 or S2 triple front ends will work too, and have the 18" wheels. You'll have to replace the S2 steering stem with the one from the Z1 to use that front end but the H1/H2 forks are a drop in deal to Z1 trees.

You could probably just lace up a 18 inch rim to the kz hub.

Those rims are very close if not the same as ZX11 rims. You will need a sportbike, or the Kz police model, front end to use the front rim as it uses a wider hub and will not fit inside the stock forks without serious machining, custom spacers and bearing swaps.
The rear will probably be OK since your having a custom swingarm made and can factor the wider hub into the equation when having the arm built.

Re: Building new drag chassis on a budget
25 Aug 2008 06:03 - 25 Aug 2008 06:04On this bike I used a rim from a motocross bike that had the little spikes on the inside of the rim to grab the tire. That was back in 1993. When looking for a rim just make sure the rim has the same number of holes as the hub. Damn I wish I would have kept that bike.
