Praise for Dyna S

Oh. My. Goodness.

Just got a dyna S installed on my bike. My only regret is not doing it the day after I bought the bike! I did the WG Coil Mod last summer, and it helped tremendously with starting. Went from having to kick it 20 times down to about 4-8 times. Then this spring got her out, and it starts taking 10+ kicks to start.

So, I put in new plugs and a Dyna S, it fired up on first kick! That's never happened. And that was after sitting for 3 weeks. It also runs much stronger, and warms up quicker in the AM. Best $150 I've spent (coil mod + ignition).

Just wanted to add this testimony for those on the fence of whether to throw away the points and jump in with the coil mod. Just do it. No regrets here.

my only complaint is the documentation.

i bought the whole kit $500 bucks worth or what ever it was and you just get a photo copied set of instructions,

where are the full glossy pictures and a pull out centerfold?

i wanted something better, that could sit next to the can for leisure reading.

Kano, be nice now or we'll have to put you back in your cage.....

Back to the topic... Amazing how simple the install and alignment process is. Good for you!

You as well as the rest of us that went this way have stated the same after completing... Why didn't we do this earlier! :S :woohoo:

Now show us the damn pictures you took during the install and alignment.... Hmmmm, you did take pictures right?
Kano, sick him!

I also installed a Dyna S and the coil mod. I still get a grin on my face when I hit the starter button and bike lights off in about 1-2 revolutions. Best money I ever spent on the old gal!;)

I have the stock points system. But will be going to a Dyna S soon. However I can kick start my bike by hand stone cold first try. I park it at my shop and bet people lunch all the time. No bike starts easier than a KZ900. No WG mod....Russ

I was amazed at how easy my Kz1000 was to kick start. I have a Dyna S + coils as well, so I'm not sure how hard it was with points. No coil mod.

Half a kick when warm (kicker hits the rearsets).

Fold up the foot peg and give it one or two full kicks in the morning when it's cold.

I ran points for over 20 years and must say when adjusted right they would make the old bike scream. Then I got older and had to adjust them more because I love to ride. On a road trip one time I had to do an adjustment in a Wal-Mart parking lot in the blazing sun. That is probably what made me get the dyna. After I installed the dyna I felt stupid because it took me twenty years to figure out set and forget was the shit. Point ignitions when done right are great but when you ride alot you do not notice the power decrease over time, that is untill you adjust them and performance returns for a few miles.B)

If ever you need it, you'll also find their after sales service (even long after wty expiry) to be absolutely second to NONE.

I put the Dyna S on each 650 two years ago and while they ran very well before, they run great now. I kept gas in the 650B over the winter and it always started by the third kick even when having sat for several weeks. I attribute that to the Dyna and Seafoam. I do agree that the instructions didn't match the quality of the unit. I read them through twice before attempting my first installation.

Some folks aren't so sold on the Dyna, though, and will source the later Kawasaki solid state igniter and pickups.

I have the Dyna s plus coils and wires, also the coil mod - the coil mod was first and made a B I G difference - the Dyna and coils were next - also a quantum jump.

Total agreement with the general sentiment - brilliant!
