Front Turn Signals

I have an 81 KZ1000 LTD. I replaced the big bars that the bike came with with something similar to drag bars (not pictured, but you get the idea).

In the process I have no place to mount my front turn signals. I'd like to still use my front signals because their blinking controls the blinking of the rears.

Any advice?

I'd like to mount to the forks or I heard about someone who mounted to the frame. Any help is appreciated.

Ken

I'm sure someone makes brackets so you can mount them on the forks or the frame. Maybe time to fab something up?

Kuryakyn makes a P clamp for several fork sizes and has lights that will mount to them.

i just had a similar issue with my 79 kz1000 LTD after going to motocross style bars. Redlinecycle.com has adapters that mount in the headlight bucket holes and then u have a nice stem to attach your turn signals to. You will also have to fab up a new ground. I used the factory ground wires in the headlight bucket and simply attached it to the bolt of the new stems...Good luck

here is the link for the adapters

i used the 35mm stems from z1enterprises ($7.25 each) as far as the ground wire, i just slipped the small eyelet under the steel washer inside and tightened it down.

gnfreak, I was going to bump this thread and saw you were in Normal (Champaign here).

Did you use those 35mm stems from Z1 to replace the headlight bolts? I want to move the LTD signals on a kz550 from the bar to this location but am not sure how the signals themselves will mount to the exposed bolts. I am away from the bike and it's hard to visualize, the stock signals are lame and over-complicated. The rear signals get in the way of saddlebags too. A poor design.

Now that's a good idea! The rear fender on the 550ltd is different but installing a bracket on the plate shouldn't be hard. Were you able to fab new stalks or did you use a purpose bult shorter stem??
