I am missing the ball and spring for carb #3 on my GPZ550.
the ball is a 1/8 ball - I can find those.

The spring seems to be no longer available and I am not sure how it even stays in place.
1st) is anyone has a spare.. that would be great!
2nd if anyone is willing to measure their spring I will try to make my own.

Thanks!

Spring is part number 92081-1440 I don't have that carb sitting in parts pile otherwise I'd be glad to measure.

Sorry, just saw that you can find the ball.  The spring is retained by the shaft, one the shaft comes out the spring and ball are free to pop out if you're not careful.  I have experienced some carbs where they will remain seated in their bore but most of the time when I pull a shaft the ball and spring will drop out.

Can you pull one from another carb to measure?

I happen to have a set of BS34's apart on the bench, 1/8" ball as well.  The spring is 3mm x 7.8mm.  Part number 92081-1260.  might be worth a shot for a few bucks, still available.  Diameter should be good but maybe someone will chime in with exact spring for your carb.

Still looking for anyone willing to measure the spring in their carb.. know it is bit of a pain, but you can get at from the top of the carb.
According to Partzilla the same spring (choke rod detent)   SPRING,SHAFT STOP is on these bikes;

so....
I have a couple 1/8" balls and a couple springs to try.

I cannot for the life of me figure out HOW the spring will stay put. the 1/8 ball is loose in there - what would 'lock' things into place?

Thanks,
-Lee

You put the spring in there, then slide the choke rod in so you can just barely see the end coming into the hole for the ball. Then tilt the carbs a bit so the ball can only go into the hole and not roll out through the choke rod bore. Drop the ball in. Push the ball down with a tiny shaft of some sort (small finish nail head maybe). Then push the choke rod a little further to hold the ball. Then pull out the nail. Then push the choke rode the rest of the way in. The choke rod holds the ball from popping out. That is why if you pull out the choke rod without knowing any better, the ball pops out and gets lost.

The spring is short. It has to be just long enough so the ball goes into the spring hole a tiny bit, but still protrudes.

Jayrodoh already measured it and gave the part number too. You both probably posted at the same time and you did not see it. When I googled the part number it pops at 19.99 on eBay + $2.00 frt.. WTF? ANOTHER 50 cent part that we are getting gouged on. It looks to come in a package of 8, but this genius gouger is selling ONE for $19.99 . Much like the special o-rings that they are gouging customer on. Just like printing money, when it's almost 100% profit. I have lost mine before, but was fortunate to find them after totaly cleaning out my shed and sweeping the floor, then using a magnet to pick through the sweepings and thankfully found them all back.
He said they are 3 mmX7.8mm. You can cut down the length, but the diameter can't be changed. 3mm=.118". Just under the .125" diameter of the detent ball. The ball can be found at the mom-pop hardware stores. I could not locate the springs anywhere.

Just like printing money! lol These 3 o-rings cost me $15.85 shipped. A real bargain considering most vendors want ~10.00 each PLUS freight. Daveo spotted these for me last week for under 5 bucks each.

I think Jayrodoh gave details on the spring for a set of BS34's. Khungerf has TK27 carbs. They are totally different manufacturers, but there is a chance the spring is the same. He should at least try one about the same length.

They have a striking resemblence to the BS34's from the illustration in your post from 2016. It appears to be part number 92081-1440. ONLY 25bucks with FREE shipping on ebay..
