Do you have the paper Kawasaki supplied fuel filter? Also unknown to many, is that each injector has a very small brass filter screen at the end of the body where the fuel supply hose goes.

If the previous owner did not use the paper filter, the brass screens may be clogged...

Yes, it had the Kawi main filter in it, BUT the tank was full of rust and crud. Bro-in-law didn't try to start it but the PO may have. I did replace the filter with a Kawi one. Thanks for the tip on the filter on the injectors. That will help out a lot! Can those be cleaned? Or do they need replacing if they are plugged?

I've never tried to clean mine, but I beleive they are pressd into the injectors inlets.

I'd contact the injector cleaning services and see what they say:

If you get to the point of the filter screens at the inlet to the injectors, they will generally come out quite easily with the correct size sheet metal screw. Pick one that grabs the small ring at the top, and does not contact the filter screen/ cone material. A couple of phone calls around your area may locate a shop that will service injectors on a bench. Or you can send them out. The spray pattern is very important to proper performance.
If you have a "Harbor Freight/ China" Tools near by they will have a fuel pressure test kit.
