Aftermarket Petcocks

Have a '75 Z1-B 900,looking to find an aftermarket petcock which has excellent screen/filtering.
Trying to minimize the "trash" getting from gas tank to carbs, also thinking about running an in-line filter. Anyone have any suggestions on Petcocks or in-line filters? I have seen at least 5 different aftermarket petcocks so..... need some advise as to which may offer the best screening/filtering please.
Thanks

I'm running a pingel powerflow with an inline filter and am pleased with the results.

I'm running the single outlet Pingle with a T and it flows great on my 1105 with RS34's.The only issue that I have had was on an older Pingle that was leaking and it was determined by them that it was the ethanol in the gas and that they were working on better O-Rings. I haven't had any issues with the new one but I have been using Stabil Ethanol treatment just in case.

Thanks for the input, I have looked and the Pingels are going for either $200.00 or $100.00 depending on whether its a dual or single outlet, GULP, I guess I should ask is there one under a $100.00 which would fit the need? My bike is stone stock....well Mac 4n2's,..just cause i could not afford the $2K to replace stock exhst. but other than that , stock down to the points ignition, my primary concern is less about "hi-flow" ( Stock carbs too) rather, more concerned about better screening and filtering. Frankly I can not spend that kind of $$$ for the Pingels, IF I could , I would just get a new tank. So, again thanks but any new thoughts given these parameters?

Here ya go Ed....

@ Z1.. www.z1enterprises.com/SearchResult.aspx?...True&KeyWords=pingel

SU009-305
Pingel
Petcock - Pingel High-Flow Fuel Valve - Single Outlet 3/8 NPT
6211-AH -
$80.68

T-off dual feeds if required....

I'm in a little different boat then stock setups where I have CR's (can be single or dual feeds), had to relocate my tank, seat and tail section back ~ 3/4" due to wider front fork tubes hitting the tank.

As being discussed where Petcock hitting top of carbs, with new rubber tank dampners, relocate the rubber on the frame tubes and E6000 (RTV) in place where tank is raised slightly in the rear thus providing clearances required over the carb tops....

My tank is a KZ1000 series where adapter plate was required....

All in all, extremely please with this Pingel. Good flow, inside tank filtering (also use in-line filter), shuts off when supposed to... Worth the extra $$$.

Thanks OMR!!:) :) :)
I might spend the %80.00, Providing I don't have to do a lot of "Modding"
So, would this be a "Bolt-IN"/ "Screw-IN"?? I.E. no mods needed on my '75 Z1-B? Stock tank, lines carbs etc.Still running stock airbox and all.
Hate to get into moving things , relocating stuff etc.
Will it just screw into stock threads? Again looking for better screening which the photo you have attached looks like much better screening!! Would this need to be "T'd" for stock carbs and lines? Can't remember I have stock petcock on there now....1 line out or 2? Also noticed Z1 had several different in-line filters , of course all are either 5/16 or 1/4. not sure which one would I need? Thanks for your input!!:) :) Feeling kinda "Dumb" bout all this

Can't say for I don't know what configuration (nipple) you have but maybe this will help out....

Pingel Petcocks

As for fuel flow... Shit, single nipple to in line filter to T nipple for dual feeds. This baby flows nicely, should be no issue. ;)

Application chart including KZ650's....
Pingel Application CHart

Pending Pingel model, most include adapter hardware....;)

Ed, Petcock screens are just that, whether they're of "stainless steel", nylon mesh, or brass. They do a fine job of keeping the "larger debris" out of carbs, But If you have rust issues, a "petcock" &/or inline filters are just band-aids. (as band-aids go, paper element (large) in line filters are the best IMHOP). Rust is insidious,& breaks down to the consistancy of talc which can lay un disturbed for long periods, then re-locate, plugging (usually) pilot jets, or the passages at slide base. If you can see any rust thru gas cap, theres more you can't.I dislike Sealers in general, & prefer "acid etches" when feasable.. both are a pain, and their' need varies..you might just install a inline filter, & check it for sediment before launching into a "project'. luck, G
