I think I'd be going up a jet, so I could put the needles back where they belong. just a thought!

That sucks... :S With larger pilots, might just compound that issue... It can be done, its just generally frustrating and expensive!
I'm going to try it with the airbox. If I lose too much power, then I will try the pods again with your method of tuning it. Funny thing is, by reading the sparkplugs it looked like the inner two cylinders were running leaner than the outer ones.

Air box will work as it was intended, but can be fairly restrictive... inside cylinders do get hotter, and thus give leaner reading on the plug, in "most" cases. Some guys jet richer inside to prevent that - thats why with pods, jetting richer outside, most guys say it dont make sense, but it works...

you can also change to a colder plug, and run the bike with leaner settings all around, and it will be fine as well - quite peppy!
