The ultimate synch link?
11 May 2010 17:44
Is there a very detailed link where I can find a step by step for carb adjustment after rebuild all the way through synchronization? I am waiting for my Clymer manual, will this tell me everything I need to know?
Thanks

what carbs on what bike?....the clymer will get you close on
a bench synch....on a bench synch, start with 2or 3 (closest to throttle linkage) and work to the outboard carbs....

The manual will tell you everything you need to know.
The most important thing after you have bench synched the carbs and installed them on the bike with the mixture screws at default setting, is to ride the bike for a good while. I'm talking like 30mins or more, to make sure everything else is good, and get the engine nice and hot before beginning to tune things.
The biggest newbie mistake is to tune things after just idling the bike off choke for a minute or two. That is just NOT HOT ENOUGH!
Get the bike back home and point a big fan(s) at the headers and set your mixture screws, then do the dynamic vacuum sync, then do the timing with a light, perfect.
This has always been very successful for me.
