What bike?

Check to ensure slack at the carbs, and at the throttle itself.

Its usually a case of just loosening a nut, then spinning the other until desired play is achieved, then retightening first nut. At both ends...

OK. the slack is adjustable at the handle also.

Do you have FSM? Manual? Should be pretty clear in there.

You should be able to put as much slack as you want to at the handle just by playing with the nuts, almost just like a bicycle.

Just play witht them, you'll get it. Or take it completely apart, then re-assemble. Pretty easy...

Adjust your idle screw out to drop rpms. If that doesnt work, then its the throttle hanging up the rpms.

OR... Disconnect the throttle cable from the carbs completely, and start the bike. If still idles high, then turn out idle screw all the way. If still idles high, may be vacuum leak or slides are not properly adjusted/sticking.

If not already done, would also assure smooth cable curves and routing between throttle grip and carbs, especially along frame tube under fuel tank, to prevent kinks and sharp turns from impairing smooth complete cable action.

New throttle cables might be needed.
