Throttle cables?

I have been having a problem trying to find throttle cables to work with the 36mm Mikuni flatslides on my 81 Kz1000J.I'm using the throttle housing from an 85 Zn1100B because I need to have push/pull cables and the LTD housing looks stock.I have the seperate housing and cables that came with the carbs but don't like the look.Even had MotionPro make me a set but they don't work,I obviously measured them wrong.Anyone else that has done this swap have any suggestions? After over a year I'm almost finished the restoration so I can't wait to ride.
Thanks for any info.

you will probably end up using the motion pro throttle housing with those carbs looks be damned it is safety first.

Damn! nice lookin' motor. don't know if this belps but i've had good luck cutting the housng& grinding, put new caps/stops at the end of the housing (metal ends) and I located these barrels that go on the cable with an allen screw. They have been working for years, but someday I'd like to have a mould to make new barrels.

By housing you mean the sheath that goes over the cable right? sorry if i misunderstood u and wasted ur time reading this!

good luck
