I'd suggest carefully removing the carb boots/ducting and see what's going on. The choke lever should move all four chokes at once, if one or more is binding, something needs inspection to find out why.

It's been a long time since I owned a Kz1000(I had a model in 1977) and I'm kinda fuzzy about choke adjustment settings. I think there is something to turn to allow adjustment so they all move together.

i m thinking that if one is stuck, you should nt be able to move the lever at all since they are all screwed down to the same rod.....the choke lever moves?.....i would spray a little wd40 around the boot cover for the choke plunger on that carb, or all of them for that matter.....i m tired and its been a long day, but thats my thoughtsB)

if it isn't moving properly it sounds like the enrichner piston is gummed up it may need to come out and be properly clean with spray carb cleaner. also check to see if the little nylon thimble that engages with the choke rod is not broken.

If I recall correctly, doesn't the choke have a long rod that goes through all four fuel enrichment plungers? I believe that each plunger is secured to the rod with a screw. Maybe the screw has come loose on the one plunger that isn't moving.

This is what yours should look like:

IMHO, it could bind at:
- 21 Rubber Cap
- 22 Brass Cap
- 24 Spring
- 25 Plunger

I believe that most members are thinking that the Plunger itself is binding inside the Carb assembly. Remember that lifting the Plunger adds more gas so they may be right. Also consider that the Spring is rusty and binding directly on the Plunger.

i have never had this symptom myself so please, let us know what you find.

Best of success. :)
