08 Dec 2009 03:14
Hello folks, quick question. Is there any way too soften up the air inlets between the carbs and the air-box.
Still trying too get my carbs installed on a 1977 KZ650B1.
Cant afford new ones right now, but want too see if the beast will run. Thanx for your time and patience ... PEACE

Others have used a hair dryer or boiling water. Maybe a heat gun.
Z1Enterprises.com may have them for your bike for around $40 a set.

Wintergreen oil!
At least that's what the Honda boys say!
forums.sohc4.net/index.php?action=printpage;topic=62328.0
Google "Wintergreen Oil Rubber" if the link above doesn't work.
They also reference peanut oil.
So your bike will either smell like a piece of gum or a PB sandwich!
Your choice.
Hope this helps!
