KZ 700 CARBS
11 Nov 2009 21:54
I have been looking and cannot find any information about which carbs I can put on my KZ700. The carbs on the bike are the originals and need to be replaced very badly. Does anyone know which carbs I can replae them with or where I can find the info for it? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I no longer have the factory manual for the 1980's kz 750's.That was sent to my son as well as the bike. so my memory will have to do. a set of Mikuni BS 34 carbs will be best. Why do you feel you need another set of carbs for your bike?

For stock motor, stock carbs. For modified street performance motor, nothing larger than 29mm mechanical slide carbs.

If you don't already have it, the shop manual (official shop manual) is on line at
kz.mbsween.com/manual.html
The stock carbs were BS34's and they can be replaced readily by watching eBay. They commonly appear...the kicker being Kawasaki used BS34's on many bikes from the KZ700A1 to the KZ1100A3...difference being the internal jetting (for the most part). However, the shop manual (starting on page 367 of 390) has the supplement covering your bike...including the model specific jets you'll need. The easiest fix being a replacement set from another KZ700A1...but they are pretty rare...you'll probably have to replace jets yourself.
