These needles only have one slot. One slot, with the taper he has on those needles will change the diameter, about .0003". That is like going up 1/3 of one jet size at mid range, from stock factory jetting.

Re: Flat spot need help

I sure hope someone gets this figured out. As some of you may already know I have had ' issues ' with the great man of MICO, TX 2 times now. The same exact type of carbs, for 2 different motors. 1st set I bought for my 1075 and the 2nd was taken off my 750/810. {BS34's} I may be able to shed a little light however. One the 1st set I got back they were supposed to be set up for a 1075, J head, Web 395 lift cam, Pods and a V & H 4 into 1, and put on his fuel/air analyzer. After 2 trips back to MICO, and still no where near right, I found a mechanic at my local dealership that would rebuild them on the side for me.{200.00} This is what he found inside. Diaphrams had a small amount of clear looking silicone to hold them in place, clips were 4 rings UP the needles, main jets 140, pilots 40, and he found soft black carbon inside most if not all the internal ports. The needles appear to be stock, as they have NO numbers, and are thick and squaired off on the very ends. Not tapered. No small spacer washers. Except 1 ea. under the main jets. After he was intially done I reinstalled and they sounded and ran like completely different carbs. Because he can only work on them on the weekend we are still fine tuning them but atleast I can ride it without any terrible issues like the first 3 times I installed them getting them back from WG.
The 2nd set as I mentioned were supposed to specially be left alone as far as any internal size changes. I removed them after 2 years on the same bike and I know they were tuned in and ran very well.
I wanted to give them away because of all my loss of money, time, and trouble from the 1st set. I figured the 2nd set wouldn't be any better than the 1st. George would NOT send them to anyone other than myself. I hesitated but I did put them on the 1075 bike. Wouldn't idle and would not rev over 3500 RPM sitting still.
Then I remembered those were originally off my 810 and surely they would be too lean for the 1075. Took them off, put them on the 810 bike and exactly the same thing. No idle, wouldn't rev over 3,500 RPM sitting still.
I will not get into all the frustrations I have been threw with the self proclaimed great one from MICO. Or the 369.00 for ea. set, shipping to him the 1st time then an additional 2 more times.
At that point I was so mad and frustrated I took them off and smashed them into peices. Then I had to clean the mess up...LOL Thats when I noticed the needles. Clips were on the 4th ring from the bottom, searched around and removed the jets. Mains 140, pilots 40. The 2nd set of carbs were sent to WG for rebuilding and SPECFIFICALLY was told to NOT change any sizes of anything internally. The reason they were sent was nothing more than periodically one carb or the other float would get stuck from sitting. Tap on the bowl and that always straightened it right out. This is a bracket bike that even with the carbs it that condition runs 11.0's in 90+ degrees, and as low as 10.70's in 70 and below. He made them into JUNK !
Forget about Geo helping you. The guy doesn't even know what he is doing. He told me everytime includeing the 1st time he had sent me the carbs they were put on a bike, test drove, and then adjusted with the use of his analyzer. And BOTH sets ran PERFECT when shipped. Neither set had even the faintest smell of gas, neither set looked like they ever had gas in them, and BOTH sets were set up identically for 2 completely different motors,
one a fairly stock 750/810, the other a 1075, J head, Web cams, 4 into 1, pods. Tell me how thats possible?
Let me/us know what your final tune up is PLEASE ! And if I get mine done before you, I will surely post my results.
Thanks

Hi Tom
I have parts in hand and they will be shipped to you with in the next two days. Except for some cosmetic cleaning, George did none of the mods required for pods and a larger engine. They will however get done now. You should have these back in hand by Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

OK Tom everything is finished and going out today. You should have carb parts in hand by Monday. I enlarged the vacuum ports to the proper size and ramped them. Stock needles are shimmed and installed. New needles are in a separate bag. Instructions are also provided. I will be curious how these work for you. Any questions or coments cal 630-321-0580
