hello
i have 76mm arias pistons in my dragbike. dropped a valve in one cylinder no damage to the cylinder but the piston is trashed. my question is can i run another brand piston without boring? arias doesn't have that piston anymore

Are you talking about just replacing the one piston with another brand, or complete new set?

Arias made both silicon and non silicon pistons. The silicon's took a smaller bore. If your bores are small enough, and are round, you could put new ones in with a hone to fit.

im guessing those pistons are machined and balanced pretty closely as a set and throwing in a piston from a differant manufacturer might really throw things off.not to mention if the domes arent exactly same you could end up with differant compression on one cylinder and differant rings ,i wouldnt reccomend it myself but Jay wouldbe the one id listen to;) goodluck, happy wrenching!

I would contact JE pistons. They can custom make any piston. The biggest thing is the weight of the piston.

if you can put it to ground and keep the bores round it should be quite a differance! ;)

One custom JE, provided they would make only one, would cost as much as a new set of Wisecos.

if you can find another brand that is the same weight, and same compression ratio, I would go for it, but if not, I would try and sell the good ones (to someone who did the same thing you did) and buy some wisecos
