I have no suction or vacuum or carb 3 & 4 on 79 650 kz. Compression is good 125 and 130. Any ideas? Thanks

are you holding throttle open?seems strange that you have decent compression on those cylinders but wont draw air in when you hold hand over carbs.are the carbs clamped into boots,are boots that bad?:whistle:

Yes, the boots are fine. It's strange to me also. Do you think something could be wrong with the intake valve?

Does it have those reed smog valves on top of the exhaust cam covers. If it does, one is stuck open, maybe.

Hey it does have smog valves on top of the covers. I'll try that tomorrow. Hope you are right. By the way I did clamp the vacuum line from the carbs to that valve. Would I still have the problem with the line clamped.

Yep...it would still not have much suction. I had same problem... I blocked off the smog passages and man what a difference.

Thanks for the help guys. Taking off the smog stuff did help a lot but I cleaned the carbs again and its running ok now.
