How much oil will drool out?
24 Aug 2006 07:34
I want to replace the clutch cover and inner points housing (PO had them chromed, and I have non-plated versions I will polish up and use) and need to know if I should drain the oil. This is a 78 LTD 1000 with a very short sidestand so it leans over pretty far to the left.
TIA

You're going to get a couple liters at least,I would think.I've never pulled those covers without draining the oil first,so I can't say for sure.
I would drain the oil though...less mess.
Do You have a new seal to put in the cover behind the ignition?...You should get one to put in while You have it apart now, instead of having to do it later on...much easier now.
