hi kz-rider.
here are pic`s of repair of my cylinderhead with special new valve-guide`s.this is an important problem of all
old z 1 900 head`s.

I hammed one out backwards with a hammer once, you'd really have hated to see that. Every guide i've installed was with a hammer and lube. Got to admit it beats them up though. I have to pre-ream them or the reamer won't fit once it's insalled. My reamer is a worn valve with the head cut off. Two of them actualy, you know differenty sizes. If your good, you can install both cams and turn one untill it stops (valves hitting) then just clamp the vise-grip tighter and turn harder. Once the vavle is bent u git ta straighten it out with a hammer on the vise. Maybe 100 hits or so and she'll fit in the guide and seal to the seat. Ape is considering my application, NOT.

hi
the proceeding cannot show complete,but i have to repair
many Z 1 head`s.hate or not hate,my method are practicable and better than work with commpressed air.
the pic with a hammer is only for discribe the method.
there are to many details to show here
examples:
1.valve guide ./. 70° Celsius
2.Head + 120°C
3.Valve Guide, larger outside diameter (special Guide)
is not from KAWASAKI
4.You need many special tools etc.

would it be better if he shimed/wedged the head up to 30.5 degrees on a press and used the press instead of the hammer??
I see he has a bushing in the lifter bore to keep the guide driver strait.

I use the old manley guide puller that locates off of the valve seat.

with manley not selling that tool anymore it makes me wonder if its the right way to go.

hi
with special tools i can drive the valve-guide goal-exactly in the direction of the valve seat.afterwards mill the seat (45°=0,09-1,1mm),and than grind the valve on the seat.in the end examine for tightness.that`s my way and my head is running with
1075ccm yoshimura at the year 2000,12000 km(miles ?)one
needs a little strength over force the guide in to the head.the picture is deceptive.with one a heavy hammer can out the wrist work.next i tke a tweezers.i see already which one does not understand me.ok.this was my last contribution in english.
