I think APE do them. Stick them in with some Threebond.

For some bikes these work well, for others, they can be a nightmare.

I ran into a problem with my turbo'd Z1 - it had the billet cam-end plugs in the head and just continued to puke oil. I ended up replacing them with the stock style rubber ones and the problem went away.

After I had the problems with the billet cam-end plugs a local customer took them (against my advice) and put them in his bike - the fit perfectly and didn't leak.

What I found from digging deeper is Kawasaki didn't always do a great job of line-boring for the cams. You would expect the line-boring to be a perfect intersection between the head and the cam caps - well on some engines it's not - sometimes off by many thousanths of an inch. I went around and measured 10 or 12 heads here and was surprised to get variation between each head. The worst ones being the earlier Z1 heads.

Stay rubber and use Yamabond #4 sealer or equiv and they won't leak.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

a few wraps of 1\4 inch teflon tape works for me. no leaks. works good if the rubber has shrunk a little.

That's why the heads and cam caps are machined together. It's not necessary for the cam cover to be included in this process, as long as the end plugs are made of cheap compressible rubber, not expensive uncompressible ally. Mr Kawasaki san not so stupid after all... ;)
