header mounting 79 KZ 650 SR 4 into 1
26 Oct 2020 11:41 - 26 Oct 2020 11:43
Im missing something here. Do I not need the split keepers I am assuming with the header? or is there a way this puzzle all goes together. the copper gaskets(new also) are in you just cant see them in the pics. the last one is just the header and the collar used, it seems to be the same as the split keeper and collar depth wise. Im easily confused.

When the aftermarket header has non-removable flanges, like yours do, you are not meant to use the split collars or the factory, finned-flange.
But keep the split collars and flanges as they are valuable and you may need them for some other aftermarket headers which require them.

Ok thank you sir. Wasnt making sense. I have lots of split collars now as I bought all new ones of course prior to trying to fit this thing in. The flanged ones seem to fit on but ill leave them all to the side. I scratched the hell out of my paint on the frame so I have to go backwards before moving forward now, story of my life. Thanks for the reply
