kz750 to 700 cylinder heads
30 Mar 2020 22:58
does anyone know if the kz750 and kz700 cylinder have the same size combustion cambers and valve sizes. i know carbs will mount and exhaust will mount. im wondering if i use 750 cams do i have a 750 head, or is the combustion chambers different?.
i screwed up a 750 head but have an extra 700 head.

I don“t think Kawasaki made any combustion cambers modifications on the 700 ccm Cylinder Head, exept the cylinder bore size. I would try to compare the 700/750 head gaskets first.

Kawasaki moved to a bathtub combustion chamber shape on later 750's so that may be one thing. Another being the lack of mechanical tach hole.

According to Partzilla, the KZ700 cylinder head has a unique part number, and the head gasket is different from earlier models, but is the same as the later 750s, including the Zephyr. Exactly what the differences are, I do not know.
The diagrams also show an electronic tachometer on the 700.
