Looking at the FSM on page 60 the ignition wiring diagram show 2 pick up coils. #4 for 1 and 4 and #5 for 2 and 3. Then on page 61 the photo clearly shows two pick up coils... In the posters photo I see bosses on the LH side of the rotor where another pick up coil should be mounted. I think Nessism has pointed out the potential problem....

I am 100% sure it´s a GPZ 900 R or GPZ 1000 RX or GPZ 1100 Horizont water cooled engine.
and the 1100 don´t need a #2-3 pickup.
GPZ-1100-(ZX-1100-E) ignition

Yes, it is not a KZ engine as the serial number states, is a ZX liquid cooled, started by the Ninja 900 of '85. Jose should be in the ZXrider forum, not the KZrider forum...….just kidding.
Outside the US, the 'Ninjas' continued to be called GPZ, even though they were no longer KZs. ….but the 1100 did not happen until the '90s, in the US it was called the ZX11...…and then a semi-naked version called the GPZ1100.. If Jose posted a picture, we would not be speculating,....
.and yes, even the 1000 shows only one pickup sensor in the factory manual, with the empty bolts holes on the left,...but with different rotor, showing three small bumps roughly 90 degrees apart, with one big span opposite. Just like the Zephyr 750 which also has only one pickup.

Based on admittedly little evidence gleaned from the interweb, I venture to guess that the engine is from a 1987 ZX1000R., marketed as a Ninja in the U.S. It looks like all the 1100cc engines were marked ZXT10.....

Like Scirocco and Hugo said, as the models progressed, they deleted the extra pickup. The igniter can determine crank position from the extra bumps on the rotor. The pickup frames still retained the holes for mounting the second pickup.
