1981 KZ650CSR

I purchased this bike being told it ran just needed the carbs cleaned.
Way beyond this now.
I need Cylinder studs, when I look up the part they say 10 X 153, 10 X 133 and 10 X 116.
The ones I removed measured 10 X 180ish , 10 X 156 and 10 X 140
So I am at a loss here.

I got the numbers of bikebandit ut it would seem they all agree.
Also, I have to repair several threads on the case. Are heli coils cool or should I get threaded inserts.

I wonder if they have been replaced with aftermarket studs from APE, MTC or such?

Consider using Time-Serts rather than heli coils. Ed

I just purchased timeserts kit. I use them at work often and better then helicoils.
Not sure about the other but they seem a real good fit. not too long but the right ones.
Can I put links here to parts?
They have a complete stud kit. wanted some expertise on this.

Yes, you can put a link in your post. The longer ones are listed as still available from Kawasaki, but the short ones are listed as nla.

I have my own reasons to use OEM cylinder studs. But as it was said, shortest stud are not available. Solution is simple. Kawasaki ZR-7 has cylinder studs of identical to KZ650 studs lengths: 116, 133, 153

www.partzilla.com/catalog/kawasaki/motor...s-zr750-h1/crankcase

Main visual difference is that ZR7 studs have factory applied thread locking compound on lower threads. I've ordered set of ZR7 studs. Hope to receive them on next Monday.

Ok, this mess may have fixed a lot of problems.
I stripped 3 studs and broke one.
I only had 87 cylinder pressure. the book calls out 205 to 187 and 155 the lowest usable.
I wasn't half.
Not to mention after gauging out the head I found the shims were just thrown in randomly and never properly placed and one is nearly .080 oversized. I have no idea where it came from.
the exhaust valves were carbon over bad. the bike idled if I poured fuel over it by the quarts.
The needle bearing feel out from under the clutch sprocket. wicked noisey. My buck 25 bike
