Good start Gordone. If you get the starter right, other things magically seem to fall into place. When fixing a large machine, I usually fix the obvious things first even though they seem to have nothing to do with what's going on. A lot of times they actually do, or I wouldn't be there in the first place. Obvious is the bike isn't starting / cranking properly. Everything else will fix it' s self.
I posted a pic of a CNC pipe bender I repaired a while back in a different thread. It had multiple problems with the Windows XP PC that ran it. Boot, run, machine functions etc. The CNC pipe bender PC would not boot cleanly, I replaced the seemingly insignificant PS cooling fan and a CMOS coin battery, then it started booting like it should. The bios was hanging on the clock not staying set and bios settings returning to default during the POST routine because of a $3.00 dinky little 2032 coin battery could not maintain the CMOS settings. Go figger.

It looks to be 2 brush starter as can be told by the big screws holding the field winding's in place. don't go by those eBay applications guides. Mine was listed as fitting, but was the wrong kit. At least they are cheap enough that shelving it wasn't that much of a hit.
It may clean up. Disassemble it carefully and take a look at the brushes and bushings. Clean it up, rinse any crap off with a hose and let it dry good. I cleaned up my comunatator with emory paper. Try not to rough up the commutator / segments too much or it will eat any new brushes immediately. Make sure the bushing and bearings are still good.
Is that sweat in the pic? lol
BTW, those kits are wayyyy overpriced. Look around a little more. The one I ordered wasn't 1/3 of those prices. I'll see if I can find it. This is the kit I bought. 16 bucks.
This is the wrong kit BTW.

I have now disabled cleaned everything and used sand paper to get it clean again...
From the picture you can see it was much left on the brushes.
It sound like the engine turns easier now, will be interesting when the engine is hot and try.
The kit you listed is wrong ? I will try google around another day, it should be easy when I have the model ? SM-224 ?
From the picture you can see the nut for cover bolt is damage, so it would be perfect if I can could fine a new house also...
I don`t think I will do more will the starter now in the season drive around and have found, and then in the winter I can replace the house (if I can find one)
and install a kit?

Your gear reduction starter has a lot more parts and bearings than a regular brush type DC motor, so that is part of the higher price. I hope you are cleaning this stuff up good, then lubing the clean parts with a light grease, while being extremely careful not to get grease on the commutator and brushes.

Gordone, remember electrical resistance increases with heat. Check all your earths, especially the main earth to the engine. It may be as simple as that.

Not sure Gordone. If they have an application table on the listing, make sure it matches the table, then return should be as easy as fleabay gets. (is there such a thing?) Be prepared for them (paypal) to keep your money for a week or two before you see it back into your bank.
I had to read back through the topic to see what motor you have. Kawasaki made a bunch of changes to the Kz1000 from 1980 to 1981, not sure about the 750's The fitment may not be correct. The kit you show is for a 2 brush starter motor like yours with field windings. I would tend to think it may be right. Some parts may be extras for different models.
