Gentlemen!

After having had my system break in two at the collector (4:1 Vance and Hines) in flight on my Kz1000 J3
I have welded it together again and am now putting it back on the machine. Started out with the old gaskets and
of course they leak a bit so putting new ones in there now.

Do you use stock copper gaskets or silver or steel or what?
I´m probably going for the std copper ones which I beleive are 11009-1906? Ie 42x32x3 mm
but great to get your input!

Interesting - So yor´re saying 5mm thick is better for aftermarket systems like the V&H?
And inner diam of 35mm sounds good that´s 3mm wider than std...

Clean the ports best you can. Then run a nice bead of RTV red high temp. Let it skin up a couple hours. F the gaskets.
But if you do use the copper. They are meant to be used once. That's why they crush down when tightened. Once!

Using once very true that´s why I have the tick-tick from the valves in the helmet now, I´m curious to see if there´s one or two old ones
in there will try to clean out today...
