What do you guys think of glass bead blasting heads and cylinders. What should I cover? Can I do valves (stems covered)? Thanks, Tom

You can glass bead the cylinder and head.just make sure you take it all apart and get all oil passages cleaned and cleared of ALL glass bead. You can also do valves with stems taped. I would try to plug all oil passages best as possible. I would also plug the cylinders in the jug. Thats what i did and it worked well for me.

make sure you put bolts in every threaded hole. it's tough to get the glass beads out of threads. And yes, as the previous poster said you have to clean and clean and clean. Those beads get everywhere even taped up.
Good luck,
Jim

Get real glass bead...not that crushed glass crap they sell at most H.R. ot Tractor Supply stores. Use 30-40.
I do them all the time.

We then do extensive pressure washing. including direct blast to each threaded hole.
